Moscow, ID - Temporary Installation at University of Idaho
An annual tradition inspired by Gordon Matta-Clark’s Fake Estates, established in the 1970’s by ecological activists in urban environments, Park(ing) day is “an annual event for people to reclaim urban space from cars, one parking space at a time”. This easily assembled work interrupts a passer-by’s frame of view momentarily, inserting a reflection into their view, hidden by the structure’s simple, sound form constructed using 2x2 studs and vanity mirrors.
